Nate Silver at 538 or Ezra Klein pretty much nailed it

Obama 303-290 EC if this is wrong then the polls everyone of them are just completely off.

Nelson doesn’t support cutting commercial crew funding. He usually defends the President. He is not on the appropriation side. He has no control over what gets appropriated.

To be fair, Nelson goes along with Republicans who want SLS and cut the Obama administration request for Commercial Crew in half. He takes credit for Commercial Crew but doesn’t make any effort to win it adequate support (as do GOPers like Posey who actually oppose it as an invention of the hated President Obama).

SLS has a lot of support in the House and among many other Senators.

Its not surprising. Constellation enjoyed strong bipartisan support. It was Obama’s lynch mob, the Augustine Committee, that steamrolled Constellation.

Election day is tomorrow. Support your GOP politicians! Donate your time. Knock on doors! Spread Mitt’s positive message.

Senator Nelson may have been one of the architect of SLS but he is also a very strong supporter of commercial crew. Even if Senator Nelson is not re-elected, SLS will not go away. SLS has a lot of support in the House and among many other Senators.

@Calvin – this race is rated as a toss up (Cook Political Report) or Lean Dem (Larry Sabato) – if anything it looks like it’s Hernandez’s to lose at this point.

If SpaceX is expanding to Texas, I can not imagine him not embracing commercial crew at this point. It is now a done deal with funding set for taking it close enough that Boeing and SpaceX could take it the last leg themselves if no funds for a final contract do not get approved.
