The wildly divergent budgets will go to conference where negotiations will fail. The most likely result is another continuing resolution. At this point, after the sequester, this is a decent result for the GOP. They won’t be blamed for shutting down the government and they can keep the sequester. A compromise budget would almost certainly raise spending and taxes. We should be watching the events in Cyprus with our own fiscal future in mind.
