While this may nean that an ally of commercial space takes this seat in McKeon's district as the new Jr. Congressman from California, what is more equally, if not more, important is who takes over as Chairman of the House Armed Services Committee and where the new congressman lands a seat on a subcommittee.

Rep. Mac Thornberry, the current Vice-Chairman of Armed services, is expected to take the Chair. I don't know Thornberry's voting record on commercial space. Perhaps someone here does.
