What the (far) left wing thinks about Bush’s plan

If you’re curious about what the far left wing (and I mean far; people that make Kucinich look like a conservative) thinks about Bush’s rumored human exploration plan, visit this site. Favorite quote: “i would do whatever is necessary to be incarcerated on some type of moon prison.” See, they’re fans, too!

  • Judging from the infantile responses posted on that site, these liberal clowns have no clue what they’re talking about.

Once again, we see hints of trading human exploration (space, in this case, because it is so dramatic) for helping the poor and downtrodden. Nevermind that our nation’s civil space budget is $15 billion and social security/medicare is magnitudes of order larger and doesn’t work at all. A great deal more good comes from inspiring young people using a rover on mars than by handing out a biscuit in a soup kitchen to a guy who’se lost all hope of improving his lot in life.

The most positive perspective is to go to the Moon AND take care of our poor and all those other things that need our attention. A great nation can develop a welfare system that works, ensure children receive the best education and medical care, remove drugs by removing demand, buckle down on crime, clean up the environment, improve relations with our international peers, and go to the Moon. That’s what the people of our nation are capable of making possible.

We just need smarter people in office to spend our money wisely, and we need to be more engaged in the political process to make sure they do.

  • im not american but what phil says is right.. solve the problems here before we start going to mars, there’s so much crap here, poverty, starvation and racism not to mention the search for a clean everlasting constant source for electricity.. sure solar power is good but it has it’s down sides, wind power yeah it ain’t windy all year.. and hydro.. nothing wrong with that is there? Oh wait.. too pricey? people shouldn’t think about money and going one step further like bush is when he’s on about mars, people should help people, clean energy means a good future for man kind.. going to mars means we can waste loads of money going to a red rock where nobody lives(as far as people know), where nobody can live (from here anyway) and just so big GWB can say “hey guys look i got to mars hehehe” what a dick
