News (of the) day: skepticism

An article in Thursday’s edition of the newspaper Newsday discusses the slow progress the Vision for Space Exploration has made in Congress since its introduction in mid-January. There’s not much in the article that has not been discussed elsewhere, but it’s a good overview of the status of the vision to date. Both Craig Steidle of NASA and John Marburger, the White House science advisor, express optimism in the article despite rumblings from Congress that NASA will not get the full budget increase it has requested.

  • Hey, he does mention the Aldridge Commission report is coming out soon. And the SEA “Moon Mars Blitz” coming up… I’ve been told the report will be released to the public next Thursday – June 10. Should be available from the website http://www.moontomars.org/, and with a public announcement at GW University in DC that morning…
