House hearing on Aldridge Commission postponed

This is late notice (I’m still catching up on work from being in Mojave the last couple days), but the House Science Committee has postponed a hearing scheduled for this morning on the Aldridge Commission’s final report. No reason for the cancellation, nor any information on a rescheduled date/time, was announced.

Jeff, you are a true public service! I was just about to head out the door to attend this hearing. You saved me the trip.

Aldridge said on Tuesday morning at a conference at George Washington University that he was going to testify on Wednesday, so he was under the impression that it was still on at that time. So the change in schedule probably has nothing to do with him.

Thank you for setting up this website. I spent 8 years working at JSC and 4 years working in the DC area after that and thsi website is a very useful resource.

O’keefe is scheduled to announce details of the Agency transformation tomorrow. It would make sense that the Aldridge briefing be before the NASA transformation announcement. If the NASA transformation is not in line with the Aldridge report, it would make sense to cancel one of the two meetings.

My preference would be to reshedule the NASA Transformation announcement after the Aldridge meeting.

These things are not really that closely related. Aldridge already appeared before the Senate last week. And it is not clear how much the NASA reorganization has to do with the Aldridge report. Anyway, the report came out last week, so O’Keefe has read it by now.
