NASA will be the subject of three hearings this week on Capitol Hill, including two by important appropriations subcommittees:
- Tuesday at 2 pm the Commerce, Justice, and Science subcommittee of the House Appropriations Committee will hold a hearing on the NASA budget proposal, with administrator Charles Bolden as the sole witness.
- Wednesday at 2 pm the space subcommittee of the House Science and Technology Committee will hold a hearing titled “Proposed Changes to NASA’s Exploration Program: What’s Known, What’s Not, and What Are The Issues for Congress?”. Scheduled to testify are Doug Cooke, the NASA associate administrator for exploration; and retired Lockheed Martin exec Tom Young.
- Thursday at 10 am the Commerce, Justice, and Science subcommittee of the Senate Appropriations Committee will hold its hearing on the NASA budget proposal wild Bolden as well as NASA inspector general Paul Martin and John Frost, a member of NASA’s Aerospace Safety Advisory Panel.
All three will be covered by NASA TV and at least the first two will be webcast by the respective committees.
